PG teachers demand re-designation

KANGRA: The Himachal Pradesh School Lecturers’ Association has demanded that postgraduate teachers’ designation should be changed to school lecturers and contractual school lecturers should be given seniority from the date of their first appointment.

The Himachal Pradesh School Lecturers’ Association has demanded that postgraduate teachers’ designation should be changed to school lecturers and contractual school lecturers should be given seniority from the date of their first appointment.

Dr Ashwani Kumar and Rajan Sharma, working president and press secretary of the association, today said the school lecturers since 2010 had been designated as postgraduate teachers and they should be designated as school lecturers as was the practice before 2010.

They said school lecturers should be given benefits of 4-9-14 time scale from the first day of appointment. They demanded that their promotional quota be increased and medical allowance enhanced. They said they would meet the Chief Minister in this connection.
