Mohali, April 26

Former Education Minister Tota Singh today appeared in the court in connection with an alleged scam involving the recruitment of 134 clerks in the Punjab School Education Board.

Tota Singh, accompanied by his lawyer, appeared in the court of Puneet Mohan Sharma, Additional District and Sessions Judge.

There were arguments between the prosecution and defence lawyers. The defence wanted to present two persons as witnesses and their statements recorded. However, Vigilance Bureau officials gave an application pleading that the two persons should not be allowed as witnesses and their names should be included in the case.

The court fixed May 10 as the next date of hearing.
