Hamirpur, February 26

Commuters dread taking the route between the Additional Deputy Commissioner’s residence and the PWD Circuit House. Reason: A small patch on the road has led to many accidents.

Though repaired three months ago, the patch has resurfaced due to the poor material used. The PWD has repaired the 200-metre road twice within the last three months, but to no avail.

It has been alleged that the material used was so poor that it started wearing off within two days and the The PWD had to appoint a labourer to clear the gravel from the road.

PWD Executive Engineer NP Singh said the repair of the road would be done as soon as the weather conditions became favourable. He said the department had not made the payment to the contractor and he would only be paid after satisfactory completion of the repair work.
