Rohtak, February 11

The security was beefed up as the gathering at the ‘Jat Nyay Dharna’ being staged at Jassia village in the district continued to swell today as well. Speakers announced that the dharna would continue till their demands were met.

The dharna witnessed an increased participation by youth and women. A number of agitators went from Rohtak to Jassia in a cavalcade of motorcycles, tractor-trailers and other vehicles.

Vehicular traffic on the NH 71-A passing through Jassia village was disrupted due to the heavy rush of agitators and their vehicles. The speakers appealed to the gathering, especially the youths, to maintain peace and order.

The crowd kept on waiting for the outcome of the talks between the AIJASS leaders and state authorities in Panipat today. However, a majority of participants left the dharna venue by the afternoon as the talks went on.

After the talks concluded, the leaders holding the dais at Jassia announced that the dharna would continue till their demands were met.
