Undeterred by the criticism by the Opposition over the surgical strikes by the Army, BJP president Amit Shah today patted the Narendra Modi government on its back for making the Indian frontiers secure.

Addressing a gathering at a religious fair organised by the Vaishya community in Agroha town of the district, Shah said the brave Army was capable to deal with all challenges on every front due to the political willpower of the Modi-led BJP government.

Remembering the martyr Lance Naik Hemraj, who was beheaded by the Pakistani troops on the border in 2013, Shah said: “Now, nobody can dare to humiliate our martyrs like bhai Hemraj was did or have an evil eye on our frontiers.”

Claiming that India has emerged as the most flourishing economy in the world, he said that the BJP government removed hurdles to clear the GST Bill. “After the implementation of the GST, Indian economy would become stronger than ever. Earlier, the government did not realise that this is the country of entrepreneurs.”

The BJP government was promoting self-employment and sanctioned loan ranging between Rs 10,000 and Rs 10 lakh to 4.5 crore youths to the tune of Rs 2 lakh crore through Mudra bank without bank guarantee in two-and-a-half years, he said, adding that the new initiatives like Startup and Make in India had strengthened the Indian economy and enabled the youth to be capable to give jobs rather than chasing jobs.

The BJP leader stated that due to several reforms and initiatives, the country had taken a leap by 16 steps in the global competitive index. “The Modi government has provided LPG connections to 5 crore families,” he said.

Praising the Haryana Government, Shah said that ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ initiative had helped the state to overcome the skewed sex ratio. “Now, the BJP government has targeted to provide LPG connections to every household to get rid of the kerosene,” he said.

Shah urged Rajya Sabha member and media baron Subhash Chandra, organiser of the programme, to adopt five villages for making the ideal villages. Chandra agreed to adopt and make five smart villages in one-and-a-half years.
