After information provided by a guard about the presence of a group of four suspected persons in Bhakar village under the jurisdiction of Sunderbani police station, the Army and police have launched a search  operation in the area.

The operation was in progress at the time of filing of this report. Atul Sharma, Additional Superintendent of Police, Nowshera, said according to a guard, a group of unidentified suspected persons reached at Bhakar village on the Jammu-Poonch highway around 1 am today.

The group approached a guard to enquire about their further route. Sources said the group might have recently infiltrated from across the LoC in Sunderbani  tehsil and might be using GPS for their onward journey to their target.

The sources said the guard informed the police in the wee hours and immediately an operation was launched by the police and the Army.

“The information may be a hoax, but it is the duty of security forces to carry out a search operation to eliminate anti-national elements, if any,” said SSP Rajeshwar Singh.
