Karnal, December 22

Information about the district will now be available at the click of a button. Deputy Commissioner J Ganesan has taken an initiative by designing an application named SIGMA — Smart Interface for e-Governance through Mobile Application — that could be easily accessible on a mobile phone.

The application was inaugurated by Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar here on Sunday. “This is a pilot project and would be implemented throughout the state at a later stage,” said the CM. “More such initiatives should be undertaken for better facilities to the public and villagers should be provided the facility at cheaper rates,” he said.

Describing the application, the DC said, “SIGMA is an Android-based mobile phone application that will make available to the public details such as voter list, officials’ mobile number, information about Aadhaar, land records, legal and illegal colonies, rates of commodities, rates of agriculture produce and passport status.”

The DC said the application could be downloaded from karnal.gov.in.
