The Haryana Government is working on removing the objections raised by the High Court so that the ban on mining can be lifted. The move was most likely to bring down prices of building material in the state.

Revealing this here today, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said lifting the ban would provide a much-needed relief not only to those involved in business of mining, but also to the general public as it would bring down the cost of construction.

The CM, who was here to address a public gathering at the local grain market, also promised a number of development projects for Naraingarh and surrounding areas. He claimed that the focus of the BJP Government was on overall and equal development of the state.

He said Haryana would soon be a corruption-free state as the BJP was working out ways to provide transparent governance. He called upon the people to be part of the drive against corruption and desist from obliging corrupt officials to break the vicious cycle.

Addressing the grievance of sugarcane farmers, the CM said while farmers were facing problems in realising their dues, the government was chalking out ways to ensure that they were paid in full.

Khattar said the project to construct check dam on seasonal rivers passing through the area would not only help check floods, but also bring up the water table.

On the occasion, local MLA Nayab Singh Saini read out demands of the local people. The CM assured that appropriate steps would be taken to meet these demands. Ambala MP Rattan Lal Kataria, Speaker Kanwar Pal Gujjar, Kurukshetra MP Raj Kumar Saini, MLAs Asseem Goel, Gian Chand Gupta and Balwant Sadhoura, along with Deputy Commissioner Mandeep Singh Brar and senior leaders of the BJP, were also present on the occasion.
