1 booked for rape

The police have booked Radhey Shyam, Deputy Superintendent in the office of the SDM, for the rape of a 33-year-old married woman here.

According to the complaint lodged with the police, the accused knew the family for the past few years. He reached the house of the victim on July 12 when she alone.

According to the complaint, the accused beat her up and sexually abused her. Feeling depressed, the victim consumed some tablets after the accused left and fell unconscious.

When her husband came home, he found her lying in bed. The woman later told the doctor about the incident and the cause behind swallowing the tablets. A case was registered after medical examination.

"The police were informed about the incident on Monday. We have registered a case and the accused is absconding," said ASI Amlesh, investigating official.
