Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rally at Sultanpur in Gurugram on November 19 will be used by the state BJP to blow the bugle for the 2019 General Election. The INLD and Congress will watch the events closely.

The rally is being held at a time when the INLD is in disarray on account of battle for supremacy in its first family. The Congress camp is allegedly hobbling with uncertainty.

The BJP finds itself comfortably placed. The state BJP has mounted an exercise to mobilise public participation to ensure the success of Modi’s event.

Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, in conjunction with state BJP president Subhash Barala, is working overtime in this regard.

“The rally is loaded with political significance in view of the next Lok Sabha elections,” said Barala. Seeking to draw a parallel with the Rewari rally in 2013, he said the Sultanpur event would be propitious for the party. Preparations had commenced and Modi’s rally would have a multiplier effect, he said.
