In what may give a major boost to the IT sector, the state government will soon announce a new IT policy.

“We wish to incubate new IT talent and boost the existing resources. The new policy will help us scale new technical heights,” said Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar at Nasscom Product Conclave here today.

The state government signed an MoU with Nasscom to set up a start-up warehouse today. The warehouse would provide a workplace to the start-ups (new budding entrepreneurs) in the field of e-Commerce and software development under Nasscom’s national programme of training 10,000 start-ups. The facility can be extended for other types of industries as well.

Finance Minister Capt Abhimanyu said the warehouse was a great step towards taking IT & ITeS to the next level. “Now, Haryana is transforming from a BPO or KPO capital to an IT hub. We are an innovation capital and soon will be the biggest investment centre,” said Capt Abhimanyu.

Nitin Seth, Chairman of Nasscom Haryana, said they had already set up such warehouses for the “beginners” in the industry at Bangalore and Calcutta. “We will be working on six-point agenda — innovation, skill development, infrastructure, ease of doing business, Digital India and taking BPOs to rural areas,” said Seth.

As per the plan, 85 seats will be there in the start-up warehouse and the joint efforts of the government and Nasscom will make Gurgaon bigger and better than Silicon Valley.

Meanwhile, Khattar exhorted companies like Nasscom and Hartron to search talented students.
