Faridabad: A guest lecture on ‘NMR Spectroscopy’ was organised for the students of the chemistry department of Aggarwal College, Ballabgarh, here recently. Dr Khalid Hussain, Assistant Professor, Mewat Engineering College, Nuh, delivered the special lecture that was attended by 30 students and staff of the department. Dr Hussain also answered the queries of the audience. The students were asked to solve questions pertaining to the CSIR-NET exam.

‘Contribute to new India’ 

Mahendragarh: The Central University of Haryana (CUH) here organised a two-day induction programme for new students to familiarise them with the new environment and encourage them to look beyond the classroom. Chief guest Prof Bhagwati Prakash Sharma, Vice-Chancellor, Gautam Buddha University, Greater Noida, encouraged the students to contribute in developing a new India. “The induction programme helps new students adjust to the new environment, inculcate in them the ethos and culture of the institution besides building bonds with other students and faculty members,” said Prof RC Kuhad, Vice-Chancellor, CUH, while presiding over the function. 

YMCA varsity, B’luru college ink MoU

Faridabad: The JC Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad, has signed an MoU with RV College of Engineering, Bengaluru, to collaborate over a wide range of research and academic activities. The MoU will facilitate student and faculty exchange, joint research collaboration, teaching and learning initiatives, conferences, workshops and training in sciences and engineering, according to VC Dr Dinesh Kumar. He said that this collaboration would bring together researchers, academics and students from both institutions and would provide them with a platform to benefit from mutual expertise.

Varsity stadium work starts 

Sonepat: Encouraged by the performance of some girl students in different sports at the national and state level, BPS Women University at Khanpur Kalan has started construction of a stadium on more than 1.5 acres at the university premises. According to VC Prof Sushma Yadav, about 60 per cent construction work has already been completed. Multi-purpose hall, office rooms, living and retiring rooms for sports-girls, state-of-the-art facilities for organising indoor and outdoor inter-college games of the university will be provided in the stadium. “There are plans to open sports nursery wings also in the stadium,” the VC said.
