Be honest with litigants, para legal volunteers told

UNA: The District Legal Services Authority on Sunday organised a training workshop for para legal volunteers at the district courts.

The District Legal Services Authority on Sunday organised a training workshop for para legal volunteers at the district courts. District and Sessions Judge DR Thakur said the volunteers, working at the panchayat level, were the connecting link between the people and the legal system. Consequently, he called upon the volunteers to be transparent and honest in dealing with the litigants so that they got due justice.

The District and Sessions Judge advised the volunteers to solve petty disputes at the village level through mediation. He said people belonging to weaker sections of society, senior citizens, women, physically and mentally challenged persons could avail free legal assistance through the volunteers.

Additional District and Sessions Judges Aman Sood and Preeti Thakur, Chief Judicial Magistrate Sapna Pandey, Additional CJM HS Verma, Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority Anil Kumar and Civil Judge RM Sharma were also present.
