Shimla, January 3
The Himachal Dalit Shoshan Mukti Sabha today blamed the BJP government in Maharashtra for caste-related violence in the state. It demanded a probe by a judge belonging to the Dalit community into the incident.
Sabha general secretary Lokender Kumar and treasurer Jagat Ram said the Bhima Kotegaon festival was being celebrated there by the Dalit community for the past over 200 years. However, RSS activists allegedly instigated trouble by unfurling a saffron flag. The sabha alleged that the Maharashtra Government failed to deploy additional security personnel to bring the situation under control.
