CM to skip HPCC meeting

KANGRA: The Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee is organising a workers meeting tomorrow at Gandhi Ground, Nagrota Bagwan, which will be addressed by former Union Minister and state Congress in-charge Sushil Kumar Shinde.

The Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee is organising a workers meeting tomorrow at Gandhi Ground, Nagrota Bagwan, which will be addressed by former Union Minister and state Congress in-charge Sushil Kumar Shinde. Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh will not attend the meeting. Transport and Technical Education Minister GS Bali said this at a prèss conference here.

Bali said Shinde would be received at Nagrota Bagwan Assembly constituency by party workers and would go in a procession to Gandhi Ground.

He said the Congress workers on 500 motorcycles would lead the procession before it reached the venue.

He said after the public meeting, Shinde would meet party office-bearers. Once a close associate of Virbhdra Singh, Surinder Kaku, a former MLA, was also present at the press conference of Bali.

The meeting at Nagrota Bagwan is aimed at showing the political strength of Bali. Bali said HPCC chief Sukhwinder Suku and Virbhdra Singh were invited to attend the meeting at 11am.

Virbhdra was scheduled to attend a passing out parade tomorrow at 2.30 pm at the Police Training College at Droh.

This evening, hurriedly the Chief Minister’s programme was rescheduled and the passing out parade programme was advanced and fixed at 11am.
