Dalai Lama on 10-day visit to Japan

The Dalai Lama left for Japan on Friday. The spiritual leader is on a teaching tour from November 10 to 22.

On Saturday in Delhi, the Dalai Lama will inaugurate the year-long celebration of the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev at Bhai Vir Singh Sahitya Sadan.

He will arrive in Japan on November 12 and conduct a series of teachings and talks over the next 10 days.

On November 14, the Dalai Lama will talk about "The Heart Sutras", praising Buddha for his teachings on dependent origination, and "Kamalashila the Middle Stages of Meditation". On the 15th, he will confer the Avalokiteshvara Initiation.

The Dalai Lama will also hold a dialogue on buddhist science and modern science with three scientists at the Pacifico Yokohama (National Convention Hall of Yokohama) on November 16. The events are being organised on the request of the Liaison Office of the Dalai Lama.

On November 17, the Dalai Lama will give a public talk to the youth on "One-We Are One Family" at Hibiya Open Air Concert Hall. The event is being organised by Sherab Kyetsel Ling Institute.

On November 18, he will participate in the opening ceremony of Sherab Kyetsel Ling Institute in Chiba, Japan. The Dalai Lama will return to Dharamsala on November 25.
