Una, April 11

In an effort to increase voter participation in the Lok Sabha elections, the district election department has established an LED video wall on the premises of the Mini-Secretariat.

District Electoral Officer Rakesh Prajapati inaugurated the screen, which has been funded by the Indian Oil Corporation.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC said messages by centenarian voters and youth icons would run on the screen to motivate people to exercise their franchise.

He said special animated short films on different themes were also being played.

Prajapti said this was a ‘go-green’ initiative in which publicity material such as paper posters and flex banners were not being used.

He said even after the elections, such video walls would be established at public places to educate and inform people about various government schemes.
