Need to improve farm marketing: CM

SHIMLA: The state government is committed to doubling the income of farmers by 2022 for which various initiatives have been taken, said Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur while addressing a delegation of the Pachhad constituency of Sirmaur district led by MLA Suresh Kashyap here on Wednesday.



SHIMLA: The state government is committed to doubling the income of farmers by 2022 for which various initiatives have been taken, said Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur while addressing a delegation of the Pachhad constituency of Sirmaur district led by MLA Suresh Kashyap here on Wednesday. The delegation had come to thank the Chief Minister for appointing Baldev Bhandari as Chairman, Himachal Pradesh Agriculture Marketing Board.

The Chief Minister said the government would strengthen the agriculture marketing network to provide better marketing facilities to farmers. Thakur said about 90 per cent population was residing in the rural areas and, therefore, it was essential to ensure their development. TNS
