Deputy CM inspects welfare works in city

JAMMU: Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh today visited different parts of Jammu to inspect the pace of work on mega developmental projects.

Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh today visited different parts of Jammu to inspect the pace of work on mega developmental projects.

During his visit to the multi-tier parking and commercial complex site at the bus stand, he was informed that the work on the Rs 201-crore project was in full swing and the target for its completion was November 2018.

He was briefed that the project would have a bus terminal, provision of parking facility for around 1,500 vehicles, besides shops and food courts.

He visited the Maharaja Hari Singh memorial park and inspected the work of installation of solar lights. He was informed that the newly established library on the park premises had been stocked with latest books and references for the convenience of general public.

The Deputy Chief Minister directed to put up an iron fence for the park along the Tawi riverside for the safety of visitors, besides proper maintenance of landscaping, flower beds and other public utilities.

He also visited the upcoming JDA Colony at Birpur and was informed that the colony would have 730 plots and the installation of electric poles had been completed.
