DPS students win laurels in painting competition

JAMMU: An inter-school on-the-spot painting competition on the topic ‘Desh Ka Jawan Bharat Ki Shaan’ was organised by the Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and languages in collaboration with the Zila Sainik Board and the Directorate of School Education at Kala Kendra in Jammu on Saturday.

An inter-school on-the-spot painting competition on the topic ‘Desh Ka Jawan Bharat Ki Shaan’ was organised by the Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and languages in collaboration with the Zila Sainik Board and the Directorate of School Education at Kala Kendra in Jammu on Saturday.

Mohammad Salim Shishger, Commissioner Secretary, Department of Culture, J&K, was the chief guest at the function.

Students of Delhi Public School, Jammu, brought laurels by bagging awards in various categories. Vrindalika Sharma of Class IV-D won the first prize in the infant group, Prathamansh Sharma of Class VII-F won the second prize in the junior group.

Suzain Iqbal of Class VIII-G won the first prize and Akanksha Gupta of Class XI-J won the consolation prize in the senior group. Vanshika Jain of Class XI-F won the second prize in the amateur group.

Principal of the school Ruchi Chabra congratulated the winners and their parents. Headmistress Meenu Gupta also appreciated the team.
