ANANTNAG: Unidentified gunmen shot at and injured a former Army man, presently working as a guard in Jammu and Kashmir Bank, in Tral area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

Unidentified gunmen shot at and injured a former Army man, presently working as a guard in Jammu and Kashmir Bank, in Tral area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

The injured man has been identified as 38-year-old Tariq Ahmad Wani, son of Abdul Rasheed, a resident of Reshipora area of Tral.

Wani was an Army man and had retired a few years ago from active service in 8 Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry (JAKLI).

He later joined the Jammu and Kashmir Bank as a guard and was presently posted at the bank’s branch in Dadsara area of Tral.

SSP Awantipora, Zahid Malik, confirmed that Wani was shot at.

“He has been referred to Srinagar in a critical condition,” Malik said.
