SRINAGAR: During her visit to Anantnag district in south Kashmir today, Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti laid the foundation stones of various projects and interacted with locals to know about their day-to-day problems.

During her visit to Anantnag district in south Kashmir today, Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti laid the foundation stones of various projects and interacted with locals to know about their day-to-day problems.

She laid the foundation stone of a solid waste management facility and 62 KLD sewage treatment plant at Uranhall.

The Chief Minister also laid the foundation stone of a 4-MLD sewage treatment plant near the Anantnag stadium, which would be built at a cost of Rs 32 crore and be completed in two years.

On completion, the sewage treatment plants will address the sanitation needs of the town and help minimise land and water pollution.

During the tour, Mehbooba inaugurated the Pushwara bridge. Later, the CM inaugurated the Mehndi Kadal-Ashajipora bypass road which would reduce the traffic load on the main town considerably. The road has been constructed at a cost of Rs 12.51 crore.

Earlier, the CM inaugurated a double-storeyed community hall at Bijbehara, with a total carpet area of 8,993 sq ft. She also laid the foundation stone of a tourist reception centre at Harnag. To be built as a heritage structure, the centre will have the facilities of a community hall, restaurant and craft market to attract tourists travelling on the Jammu-Srinagar national highway.

Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh, Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation Abdul Rehman Veeri, Minister for Public Works Department Naeem Akhter and legislators from several areas accompanied the Chief Minister during her tour.
