As curfew entered its third day in Jammu city on Sunday, cricket lovers were seen playing on roads throughout the day.



As curfew entered its third day in Jammu city on Sunday, cricket lovers were seen playing on roads throughout the day. Youth from various areas of the city were seen holding small cricket tournaments on roads. Even the policemen standing guard let the youth play, making sure at the same time that no untoward incident occurred. In some areas, elders were seen cheering the players. Schools cancel functions

Many schools have cancelled their annual day functions in view of the imposition of curfew in Jammu. As the district administration ordered closure of educational institutes due to the prevailing tense situation, schools postponed the annual day and foundation day functions. “We were preparing for the annual day function for the last 20 days but due to curfew in Jammu, the school management has decided not to hold the function,” said Janvi Kour, a student. BJP leaders go into hiding

While Jammu city and adjoining localities remain under curfew, most of the BJP have gone underground. A majority of the BJP leaders have switched off their mobile phones for the past two days and have gone to undisclosed locations. People facing shortage of essentials such as milk and medicines tried to get in touch with BJP leaders to seek their help but to no avail. Dinesh Manhotra

Despite repeated denials by the Ministry of Home Affairs over the presence of ISIS  in Kashmir, the suicide terror attack in Pulwama in which 40 CRPF men were martyred should be a wake-up call for the babus in North and South Block, New Delhi, who deal with Kashmir. Contradiction about the inroads made by fundamentalist forces and radical ideology is slowly putting Kashmir on the path of anarchy and could engulf entire Jammu and Kashmir in the coming years.
