Kakryal hospital celebrates 3rd anniv

JAMMU: Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Superspeciality Hospital, Kakryal, today celebrated its third anniversary.

Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Superspeciality Hospital, Kakryal, today celebrated its third anniversary.

Governor Satya Pal Malik, chairman of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, was the chief guest on the occasion. The hospital was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the same day on April 19, 2016.

The function was held at the Matrika auditorium of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University.

In his address, the Governor complimented the staff of the hospital for coming up to the expectations of the people in providing quality tertiary care to patients at an affordable cost.

The Governor honoured Dr Tsering Landol, Dr GQ Allaqaband and Dr CD Gupta for their lifetime contribution in the medical profession. Later, Malik visited the hospital and inspected various facilities there.

The shrine board offered free and concessional treatment to deserving patients from economically backward sections costing Rs 2.5 crore.

He said the success stories of the hospital were a reflection of the professional capabilities of the doctors and staff and pledged full support on behalf of the shrine board in providing the best quality healthcare to the patients.

Presenting a detailed report, hospital CAO Dr Man Mohan Harjai, said, “Since its inauguration, the hospital performed 6,364 surgeries, 1,751 angiographies, 568 angioplasties and in the department of oncology, 4,921 patients were admitted for chemotherapy, 653 patients were given radiation treatment. A total 24,790 patients received hemo-dialysis treatment.” —TNS
