Presented souvenir to Mir, not honesty award: Khalsa Aid

Srinagar: The Khalsa Aid Society on Tuesday said it had only presented a souvenir to J&K Peoples’ Movement (JKPM) patron Javed Mustafa Mir and not an ‘honesty award’.

Srinagar: The Khalsa Aid Society on Tuesday said it had only presented a souvenir to J&K Peoples’ Movement (JKPM) patron Javed Mustafa Mir and not an ‘honesty award’. “On the auspicious occasion of Baisakhi, Khalsa Aid volunteers are giving a token of love to our good wishers across India... our volunteers gifted the same souvenir to Javed Mustafa Mir along with some other prominent people of Jammu & Kashmir. This gift was a pledge to support humanity. We have never supported any political party or any kind of activity related to politics and neither did we give this kind of award,” a Khalsa Aid Society statement issued said with reference to JKPM’s claim on Monday. A JKPM statement had claimed that its patron received an ‘honesty award’ from the Khalsa Aid Society. The NGO also said the claim made by the party had “no authenticity”. TNS
