Scores of employees working under the Saakshar Bharat Mission in the education department held a protest demonstration in Reasi district on Tuesday. They have been demanding regularisation of services and release of pending salaries.

The employees alleged that they had been working in the education department for the last seven years but their services had not been regularised.

The protesters raised slogans and marched from Zanana Park to Reasi mini secretariat.

“We demand a comprehensive job policy should be framed so that our future is secured,” a protester said.

He said their salaries had also been withheld for the past three years even as their services had been utilized from time to time.

The protesters appealed to the Governor to look into the issue.
