SRINAGAR: Tension gripped Jammu and Kashmir''s Kupwara town on Tuesday after the army rescued a soldier who had been accused of being involved in a braid-chopping incident.

Srinagar, October 17

Tension gripped Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara town on Tuesday after the army rescued a soldier who had been accused of being involved in a braid-chopping incident.

A large crowd built up in the area after he was rescued from a mob that was beating him up ruthlessly.

The rescued soldier was said to be critically injured, and was moved to a hospital in Srinagar. — IANS
