Punjab Police thrash Uttarakhand 15-0

JALANDHAR: As many as six matches were played on the first day of 67 All-India Police Hockey Championship-2018 which began at PAP Astro turf Hockey Stadium, Jalandhar.

As many as six matches were played on the first day of 67 All-India Police Hockey Championship-2018 which began at PAP Astro turf Hockey Stadium, Jalandhar. The week- long Hockey tournament will end on September 21.

ThePunjab Police marked a huge victory over Uttarakhand Police by defeating the latter with 15-0 goals. Maharashtra Police won the match by 5-1 goals by defeating Manipur Police, while Karnataka team defeated Andhra Pradesh by 6-4. The third match was held between CISF and RPF in which the former won by 10-0 goals. In other match that was held between Jharkhand Police and Chandigarh Police, Jharkhand won the match by 15-0 goals.

The match between Haryana and West Bengal was won by Haryana by 5-3 goals.

As many as 675 players of 27 teams from all over the country including Central Police Organisations will be taking part in the event. Gurbaj Singh, DSP Olympian Hockey player of Punjab Police took oath on behalf of all participants for the smooth conduct of the event.
