Jalandhar: Tarlochan Soond, sitting Congress MLA from Banga who contested independently, grabbed 6,294 votes. Party candidate Satnam Kainth lost here.

Tarlochan Soond, sitting Congress MLA from Banga who contested independently, grabbed 6,294 votes. Party candidate Satnam Kainth lost here. 

Gurbinder Atwal, ex-MLA of Nurmahal, who contested as an independent from Nakodar got 1,664 votes while party candidate Jagbir Brar lost from this constituency. Surinder Mahey, ex-Mayor, who contested as an independent from the Jalandhar West constituency got 1,345 votes. Sushil Rinku of his party was the winner here.  Nimisha Mehta, who had withdrawn her candidature after the Election Commission deadline, got 275 votes from the Garhshankar constituency in Hoshiarpur.
