Doc comes up with mobile application for heart patients

HOSHIARPUR: Dr Varindar Sarwal, a cardiac surgeon, presently working as Senior Director, Head of Department – CTVS at Ojas Hospital has come up with a futuristic App for heart patients.

Dr Varindar Sarwal, a cardiac surgeon, presently working as Senior Director, Head of Department – CTVS at Ojas Hospital has come up with a futuristic App for heart patients.

Through the app, which is named as Dr Sarwal iConsult, heart patients can be in touch with their doctors around the clock from anywhere in the world, before and after the surgeries or interventions besides any other concerns related to the disease. The App can be downloaded from ‘Google play store’ or ‘Apple app store’ free of cost.

Dr Sarwal said: “The record of the patients, stored in the App, will be a ready recknor for any physician at all times, anywhere in the world in case of emergency.”

“Patients can schedule his appointment instantly and gets a confirmation message/reminder through SMS and video chat. They can also upload their angiography CDs on Google drive for viewing by top experts,” he added.

He said: “Patients don’t require to rush to hospital and by sitting at home they can get the expert advice for further treatment.’”

He said: “Through the App, the patient’s family physician will also be in loop, so whatever we advise he gets a message about it and vice versa so it works a networked care for the patient.”

“Similarly in case the patient is admitted with us for surgeries or interventions, his family can also know about the progress on daily basis by sitting at home, ” said Dr Sarwal.
