The dilapidated condition of the demolished road in centrally located market of the city is causing inconvenience to the residents. Reportedly, it has been more than a month since the road was bulldozed after the orders of town planners but no construction work has been started to repair it.

The road that lies in the Rainak Bazaar just adjoining Jyoti Chowk directly leads to the interior markets of the whole area, hence commuters are suffering since the road has been demolished.

The shopkeepers adjacent to road said, “Though the roads need to be repaired, it wasn’t a suitable time as monsoon has arrived and water was getting accumulated in debris. The concrete is further aggravating the trouble as it is making tough for the commuters to cross the road smoothly. One of the shopkeepers said, although authorities had taken a good decision to construct new roads in the market, quick recovery was also needed.

People from all over the city come here to buy all kind of items. Therefore, it creates a huge commotion and this broken road is only adding up to their plight. Sewerages and drainage pipes have also broken during the demolition process, so immediate repair was needed, he further added.
