At the conclusion of three-day central committee meeting of the Revolutionary Marxist Party India (RMPI), thousands of people who participated in the massive ‘Adhikar Rally’ held here, pledged to fight against communal-fascist attacks of the saffron brigade and neo-liberal policies of the government. The historic gathering of people, coming from every nook and corner of the province in Burlton Park, gave a message that people want a pro-people radical change.

During the rally, the committee decided to observe a week-long programme from January 30 to February 6 by holding mass actions at the district- level for the realisation of burning demands of people.

Addressing the rally presided over by a presidium comprising comrades Rattan Singh Randhawa, Raghbir Singh, Neelam Ghuman, Darshan Nahar and Natha Singh, party general secretary, comrade Mangat Ram Pasla said under the leadership of Modi, the RSS had usurped the entire constitutional structure of the country.

Important institutions such as the judiciary, executive, RBI and the Election Commission have gone under the control of the RSS. There is no sphere or constitutional institution in which the RSS has not intervened.

Speakers emphasised that the need of the hour was to unite left and democratic forces to fight against communal-fascist forces. Many intellectuals and democratic activists had been jailed after registering false cases. The rally was also addressed by party chairman comrade K Gangadharan (Tamil Nadu); Rajendra Pranjape, tresurer (Maharashtra); central committee members comrades T Kumarankutti (Kerala); Kulwant Singh Sandhu and Gurnam Singh Daud.

MCPI (U) general secretary comrade Mohammed Gaunse also addressed the participants. State secretary, comrade Harkanwal Singh said people of the country were being robbed. Free health services and equal rights to education for each and every citizen of the country should be provided.

He said without overthrowing the capitalist system, solutions to these problems would not be possible. He also called upon people to struggle for the creation of a society which would be free from gender discrimination.

A convention against the increasing atrocities on Dalits is also planned at Delhi in March 2019.

During the rally, comrade K Gangadharan also released the Hindi version of ‘Sangrami Lehar’.
