Six medical stores found violating Drugs and Cosmetics Act

- Show cause notices to be issued to violators

A special inspection drive under the mission 'Tandrust Punjab' was launched on the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Vipul Ujwal to check the violation of the Drugs and Cosmetic Act -1940 in the district.

During the inspection, six medical stores were found to be violating the norms in the district. Show cause notices will be issued to those violating the norms. Four medical stores were inspected by the team in Hoshiarpur and violation was found in 3 more medical stores including Khanna Medical Store, Shivalik Medicos and AS Medicine Center.

He also said that in Garhshankar, medical samples of 3 medical stores were collected, out of which two medical stores were found violating the act namely Vinay Medical Store and Sood Medical Hall. At Dasuya, two medical stores were inspected by Tehsildar Harkaram Singh and Drugs control officer Parminder Singh, one of whom, Harman Medicos, was found to be violating the Drugs and Cosmetic Act. He said show cause notices will be issued to these 6 medical stores for violating and strict action will be taken under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act-1940.
