Jalandhar, May 6

Leaders and workers of the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) today mocked at Congress Mayor Jagdish Raja for “creating a road network in the city that has become ideal for off-roading events”.

Holding a mockery at one of the city’s main road – Cool Road, the SAD workers came on motorcycles and jeeps. They rode on stony stretches and mounds of earth piled up in the centre of the road. SAD Doaba media in-charge Gurpreet S Khalsa said: “City youth need not go anywhere for off-roading biking events. They have such provisions right here.”

The SAD workers said the Mayor, city MLAs and the sitting MP must take a round of Cool Road and feel about the problem being faced by candidates on a regular basis.

They said: “It is now in the midst of poll that they have begun doing the patch work after being questioned by residents during Congress rallies.” — TNS
