Non-teaching staff protest against govt

JALANDHAR: A dharna by non-teaching employees of DAV College and Doaba College under the directions of the Private College Non-Teaching Employees Union, Punjab (aided and unaided), was held here today.

Jalandhar, October 7

A dharna by non-teaching employees of DAV College and Doaba College under the directions of the Private College Non-Teaching Employees Union, Punjab (aided and unaided), was held here today.

The union demands were raised by state president Madan Lal Khullar. He said the non-teaching employees of government colleges had been granted a revised pay grade with effect from December 1, 2011, but the non-teaching employees of the aided colleges were still waiting for a notification.

He also condemned the attitude of the Punjab Government in this regard. Rama Shanker Tiwari, president of Doaba College unit, said the notification of the Punjab Government regarding recruitment of non-teaching employees was also not up to the mark as the posts of Class IV employees and superintendent, electrician, steno, etc, had not been mentioned in the said notification. He also appealed to the government to accept their genuine demands ie notification of enhanced medical allowance and house rent, leave encashment, implementation of 4:9:14 step up increment, Service Security Act, CCA, rural allowance, pension and gratuity to be given to the aided colleges of the state. — TNS
