Over 300 get degrees at KCL annual convocation

JALANDHAR: The annual convocation of the KCL Institute of Management of Technology was organised today wherein more than 300 degrees of MBA, MCA, BBA, BCA and BCom (P) were awarded to students.

Jalandhar, May 20

The annual convocation of the KCL Institute of Management of Technology was organised today wherein more than 300 degrees of MBA, MCA, BBA, BCA and BCom (P) were awarded to students. Dr SK Sood, Director, KCLIMT, welcomed the chief guest, members of governing council, dignitaries and recipients of degrees.

The institute’s report was presented by Dr Sood. He said 30 students of KCL Institute of Management and Technology had bagged top merit positions in the examinations conducted by IK Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKG-PTU). These students have been honoured by the institute and were also given scholarships for encouragement. The institute has strategic tie-ups with top companies for placements, he added.

Balbir Kaur, president, governing council, declared the convocation open. Dr Lalit Kumar Awasthi, Director, BR Ambedkar National Institute of Technology Jalandhar, gave the convocation address. He said Khalsa College Lyallpur Education Charitable Trust had a glorious past of more than 100 years serving the society especially in the field of education. At the end, Dr Sanjay Bhargava, Dean, CS, presented the vote of thanks. The dignitaries present were Urmiljit Kaur, secretary; Jaspal Singh Waraich, joint secretary; Sukhbir Singh Chatha, director, academic affairs; Dr YS Randhawa, director, engineering; Dr Navjot Kaur, principal, Lyallpur Khalsa College for Women; Prof GK Jain, vice principal; Prof Jujhar Singh Dosanjh, Prof Ramandeep Deol, head of the department, management, Dr Inderpal Singh, dean, research and Prof Kamal Nain, head of the department of information technology.
