Phagwara, February 13
Communal tension, that developed after the violent clashes between two groups on February 8 night in Phagwara was defused yesterday with the efforts of Senior Superintendent of Police, Kapurthala, Satinder Singh.
SP Phagwara, Mandeep Singh, SP (D) Satnam Singh and DSP (Investigation) Manpreet Dhillon were also present on the occasion. A meeting of the newly-formed 14 members Saanjha Phagwara Parivar Committee was held at the office of the CIA Staff here yesterday evening. Representatives of both groups joined hands and assured the police to maintain peace. — OC
