Jalandhar, June 21

The directorate of Factories Punjab and Punjab Industrial Safety Council organised a seminar on occupational health and safety awareness on Wednesday at the Indian Oil Corporation Ltd, Jalandhar.

The seminar was inaugurated by Dwarka Dass, Assistant Director Factories, in the presence of PS Bhatti, GM (Plant), IOC, Jalandhar and HS Minhas, DGM (Terminal), IOC, Jalandhar. Around 40 participants included different categories of workmen including security personnel, haulage labour, electricians and foremen. Somraj from Red Cross Society Jalandhar held an interactive session on the importance of first aid and qualities of a first aider.

A motivational seminar on the importannce of each individual in a team was delivered by Shruti Bajaj, Manager (plant), IOC Bottling Plant, Jalandhar. The seminar was concluded with a session by Dwarka Dass on developing safety culture in each individual. Feedback was taken from participants regarding the seminar. The programme concluded with distribution of certificates to participants and vote of thanks by Assistant Director Factories and IOC Jalandhar team.
