I’m from Mumbai and winter here is getting warmer. I still miss my school days when I had to wear a thick sweater in the mornings. I completely depend on a nice hot cup of tea during winter. Different types of teas —Kashmiri, Green, Jasmine, Rose or even Masala — are my favourite.
Health first

I just love Mumbai winter because it’s not harsh. The fondest memory is of cycling to school early in the morning. We used to leave before sunrise and hands used to freeze while cycling. I like to eat a lot of healthy food in winter, especially khajur and lots of dry fruits.
Choco delight

Hot chocolate fudge is my all-time favourite, especially when it is made by my sister, the wonderful chef, Kaveri Utreja. You don’t need a reason to have chocolate. So yes, I believe hot chocolate is perfect for a chilly winter night.
Comfort food

I like to sip on a hot cup of coffee and have a spicy green chutney sandwich. It’s actually kind of comfort food for me, and I would recommend it to everyone on a cool, cozy winter evening.

Although it’s not freezing in Mumbai, lightweight stokes and boots come out of the closet. Dubai winter was same as here, so just fashion has changed not the weather. White Christmas in New York is my fondest winter memory and also the ski trips. Hot mulled wine and chocolate with marshmallows are my favourites; in India being a typical Punjabi, it is makki-sarso and jaggery-makhan.
