The canvas of photography is limitless. The many dimensions of the art of photography come alive as part of Drishti, an exhibition of 40 photographs by members of Tricity Photo Art Society  at Alliance Francaise-36.

Established on January 26, 2015 by Deep Ram Bhatia and Vinod Chauhan, the vision of TPAS is to promote photo art in the region by conducting regular activities like workshops, photo walks, seminars, lectures, tours, online digital competitions and photo exhibitions.

“This is our third exhibition by our members and it is surely a reflection of the experience we have gained over the years and our constant effort to present world-class work, one that depicts our creativity and technical acumen. TPAS was the first Photographic Club of the region to conduct a Digital International Photographic Competition in 2015-2016 and then again in 2017,” says Vinod. 

Drishti is a spectacular and unique mix of various genres of photography, from portraits to landscapes, life replete with human emotions and feelings, events that made news, glimpses of our rich culture, traditions, cities in distress, human bondage, nature in all its splendor and beauty, scenes from the streets, portraits that urge you to stop, stare, and initiate a dialogue. The variety and versatility of the works, from across the world, is hard to miss, as the quality of the photographs brings to light many nuances of the work, vision, experiments and effort. “Yes, we have used the nine-ink printing for this exhibition, and not chemical printing. So, the photographs have an unparallel effect, as you will see in the clear tones, especially in the black and white photographs. Also, there has been a special focus on the display of the photographs by a creative use of space at the Alliance Francaise gallery.” —TNS
