You know about their unbeatable passion for singing, acting and yes, producing films. Now, they have rolled up their sleeves and slipped into a new uniform. Some members of the fraternity are now the part of Punjab De Sher cricket team that fought against Mumbai Warriors. Ah! now it is sports, the new passion for the industry. While the team gears up, falling in shape, sprucing their batting and balling skills, we get a random lowdown on the sporting interests that the singer-actors of the Punjabi entertainment industry have. Surprisingly, many of these entertainers have shared strong affinity with sports and some of them still do!

Passion driven
Kulwinder Billa, singer 
His latest track Chakwein Suit is part of every university and college festival. This grey-eyed singer, however, has always been a sportsperson, which he considers a must for a sound mind and body.
Game on: I am a state level kabbadi player, a sport I have pursued pretty seriously. I had to drop it for singing. However, when I still get time, this is something I love to be engaged in.
What a sport: Taking up a sport is mandatory for any entertainer; it is an unbelievably amazing stress-buster.
Cricket ho: I am a total fan of this game, and am happy that now we have our own Punjab De Sher cricket team.

Good volley
Binnu Dhillon, actor
He can make you roll in laughter in a blink of an eye. He is now the must-have ingredient in any Punjabi film; actor-comedian Binnu Dhillon is never to far away from sports, despite his busy schedule.
Game on: I have done Cped (certificate in physical education), so sports have been a part of my studies as well. I was in the sports wing and also in the athletics team.
What a sport: I was a volleyball player, and this is a sport that I take up as and when I get time.
Cricket ho: Once a sportsman, always a sportsman! I am part of the Punjab De Sher cricket team, and see myself doing fairly well in this sport as well.

Avid cricketer
Gulzar Chahal, actor
This tall and handsome actor has made a selective choice in Punjabi films, but when it comes to sports, he has dabbled in just about every sport.
Game on: I have been in one or the other sport as far as I know. I was an under-19 cricket player, which says much about my interest in this sport.
What a sport: I am part of Punjab De Sher team, and it is a like a dream thing to happen because I connect with this sport all over again. However, I never left it in the first place.

Straight drive
Hardy Sandhu, singer actor
His track Soch became the romantic anthem of Punjab. His latest song is also on romantic lines and rising on the music charts. It is a little known secret that he is a fine cricket player as well.
Game on: I have played professional cricket. In fact had I not been a singer actor, I would have been playing cricket!
What a sport: For me it is not the question of time or no time; hitting the pitch, hearing the sound of the bat with the ball going out of the boundary in full swing is an absolute must!

Connect well
Harish Verma, actor
He is known to breathe life into every character he takes up; almost everyone knows about his interest in theatre and fine roles, but little do people know that Harish loves cricket and any free time he would ideally spend at a cricket academy learning the game!
Game on: Acting has taken over in a big way; even then whenever an opportunity like CCL comes my way, I see it as a huge favour. It is through such events that I can stay connected with the game I like.
What a sport: I have played almost all kinds of games, including football, or let’s say rural sports, kabbadi, gulli danda…and it is my heart’s wish to be connected to them always.
