No major Hollywood releases this Friday. You can choose either Arjun Patiala, starring Diljit Dosanjh and Kriti Sanon or Judgemental Hai Kya featuring Kangana Ranaut and Rajkummar Rao. Not to miss Pollywood film Chal Mere Putt which has Amrinder Gill and Simi Chahal in lead roles.

Film:  Judgemental Hai Kya

Producers: Shobha Kapoor, Ekta Kapoor, Shaailesh R Singh

Director: Prakash Kovelamudi

Who’s in it: Versatile actors Kangana Ranaut and Rajkummar Rao will once again share screen space in their new film Judgemental Hai Kya.

Name controversy: Earlier the film was titled ‘Mental Hai Kya’ but it had to be changed after Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) deemed it “too harsh”.

Kangana and Rajkummar were earlier seen in Queen in 2014. Their pairing was appreciated by the audience and critics by large.

Now after a gap of many years, they are coming back together in this unique film that celebrates imperfections and being different.

Posters generate buzz: The film has already created a massive impact with the crazy posters that the makers unveiled. It is a story about two beautifully chaotic characters and no one else could be a better fit except Kangana Ranaut and Rajkummar Rao.

Amyra Dastur plays Rajkummar Rao’s urban newly married wife. Jimmy Shergill and Brijendra Kala support the lead stars. We are expecting yet another smashing performance from Rajkummar Rao, Kangana Ranaut and Amyra Dastur and that could be the mainstay of this much awaited film.

Film: Arjun Patiala

Producers: Dinesh Vijan, Bhushan Kumar, Sandeep Leyzell and Kishan Kumar.

Director:  Rohit Jugraj

Arjun Patiala has already managed to grab much attention in Bollywood. At first, the film’s trailer saw social media go gaga over this spoof comedy that makes fun of itself.

Who’s in it: This Diljit Dosanjh and Kriti Sanon starrer promises to be a laugh riot. It is a character-driven comedy with Diljit playing a quirky, small-town cop and Kriti Sanon in the role of a journalist.

Well, we are waiting to watch what this cute policeman, a pretty actress and a famous sidekick have on offer.

Film: Chal Mera Putt

Producers: Karaj Gill, Ashu Munish Sahni

Director: Janjot Singh

Janjot Singh makes his debut as director with comedy Chal Mera Putt. The film features Amrinder Gill and Simi Chahal in the lead. Three Pakistani Punjabi theatre artists —  Iftikhar Thakur, Nasir Chinyoti and Akramudasin  — are part of the cast besides the actors Gurshabad and Hardeep Gill who will be seen in pivotal roles.

Those who have gone through the rushes say that it is perfect drama film which revolves around Punjabis trying hard to make a living in a foreign land. Another full on Punjabi entertainer, they claim. - Dharampal
