Amritsar yard work hits rail traffic

Ludhiana, August 19

Owing to ongoing work at the Amritsar yard, several trains would remain temporarily diverted, short-terminated/short-originated with immediate effect till August 31.

Besides, many other long-route trains have been rescheduled for late departure or else running behind schedule due to heavy rain and floods in some parts of the country, said the railway officials.

Diversion

The 19101 Tatanagar-Jammu Tawi Muri Express would be diverted via Jalandhar Cantt-Mukerian-Pathankot till August 20 while the 22429 Delhi Jn-Pathankot Superfast Express would run via Jalandhar Cantt-Mukerian-Pathankot till August 22. Similarly, the 18102 Jammu Tawi-Tatanagar Muri Express and the 22430 Jammu Tawi-Delhi Jn Superfast Express will be diverted via Pathankot-Mukerian-Jalandhar Cantt till August 22.

Short-termination

The 15209 Saharsa-Amritsar Jansewa Express would be short-terminated at Jalandhar City from August 20 to 30 and the 15211 Darbhanga-Amritsar Jannayak Express would also short-terminate at Jalandhar City with immediate effect till August 29.

Short-origination

The15212 Amritsar-Darbhanga Jannayak Express and the 15210 Amritsar-Saharsa Jansewa Express would short-originate from Jalandhar City till August 31. Both these trains would remain cancelled between Jalandhar City and Amritsar during this period.

Rescheduled trains

The 22124 Amritsar-Gorakhpur Jansadharan Express (1.55 hrs), 22430 Pathankot-Delhi Jn Superfast Express (2 hrs), 22552 Jalandhar City-Darbhanga Antyodaya Express (2 hrs).

Trains running late

12357 Kolkata-Amritsar Durgiana Express (5.55 hrs), 15707 Katihar-Amritsar Amrapali Express (3.50 hrs), 12919 Indore-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Malwa Superfast Express (3 hrs), 12380 Amritsar-Sealdah Jallianwala Bagh Express.
