Annual prize distribution

Ludhiana: Devki Devi Jain Memorial College for Women held their annual prize distribution function.



Ludhiana: Devki Devi Jain Memorial College for Women held their annual prize distribution function. A total of 29 university top position holders were given appreciation certificates and cash prizes. As many as 145 meritorious students were given cash prizes, 23 students of ad-on course of event management with top 10 positions were also given prizes. Three teachers, namely Ashu Beri Head of Hindi department, Seema Soni, head of Commerce and Management Department, and Hitesh Ahuja, head of Computer Department, were also honoured with a token of appreciation. 

Seminar on cyber security

The postgraduate department of computer science, GHG Khalsa College, Gurusar Sadhar, in association with Ansh Infotech, Ludhiana, organised a seminar on network and cyber security. Anshu Arneja and Deepak Kumar from the firm were guest speakers. 

GNKCW shines in online youth fest 

Students of Guru Nanak Khalsa College for Women, Gujarkhan campus, Model Town, brought laurels to the college by bagging multiple positions in the Dera Baba Nanak online youth festival. Gurleen Kaur of BA-III won second prize in solo sketch and was awarded a cash prize of Rs 31,000 while Parwinder Kaur of BA-II secured third prize in calligraphy with a cash prize of Rs 21,000.   

Squadron Leader retires

Squadron Leader SP Singh, who was associated with the Air Wing NCC of 4 Punjab Air Squadron Unit of Ludhiana as the ANO, retired after 30 years of service today. A retirement party was organised at the unit headquarter of the squadron. Group Captain AC Sethi, Commanding Officer of the squadron, said SP Singh had not only performed his duties but also created a special place in the hearts of his seniors and juniors. 

National education day celebrated

The department of social sciences of the Government College for Girls celebrated National Education Day to pay tributes to Maulana Abul Kalam Azad. A presentation on Abul Kalam was delivered by students and teachers.

Red Ribbon Day observed

The Red Ribbon Club of the Khalsa College for Women, Sidhwan Khurd, observed Red Ribbon Day. Principal Rajwinder Kaur Hundal motivated students to create a productive society. She also discussed various aspects of drug abuse and insisted that students should engage in social activities. 

Freshers’ party

Senior students of the Ludhiana Group of Colleges, Chaukimann, gave a grand welcome to the new students. Karanvir Singh was crowned Mr Fresher was Ms Fresher, respectively.
