Badminton tourney: Arnam, Rajveer score facile victories

LUDHIANA: Arnam Jain, the silver medal winner in the recently concluded Sub-Junior Punjab State Ranking Badminton Championship at Jalandhar, and Rajveer scored facile wins in their respective second-round matches in the Sub-Junior Ludhiana District Badminton Tournament that commenced at Shastri Hall, near Guru Nanak Stadium, on Thursday.

Arnam Jain, the silver medal winner in the recently concluded Sub-Junior Punjab State Ranking Badminton Championship at Jalandhar, and Rajveer scored facile wins in their respective second-round matches in the Sub-Junior Ludhiana District Badminton Tournament that commenced at Shastri Hall, near Guru Nanak Stadium, on Thursday.

Arnam defeated Tanish hands down (21-6, 21-3), while Rajveer overwhelmed Rijul (21-2, 21-6) to advance into the third round.

Around 400 players (boys and girls) are taking part in this tournament being organised by the District Badminton Association, Ludhiana, (DBAL). Mohinder Singh Grewal and Anupam Kumaria, DBAL president and general secretary respectively, along with technical secretary coach Charanjit Singh were present on the occasion.
