Four-day job fair starts today

LUDHIANA: Under the Ghar Ghar Rozgar Yojana of the government, a four-day mega job fair will be organised in Ludhiana from November 19 to 22.

Under the Ghar Ghar Rozgar Yojana of the government, a four-day mega job fair will be organised in Ludhiana from November 19 to 22.

In the job fair, 866 companies will interview youths for 76,166 jobs from various fields. More than 35,000 jobless youths have registered themselves on the state government’s web portal — www.ghargharrozgar.punjab.gov.in.

While providing information, Deputy Commissioner, Pardeep Kumar Agrawal, said the mega job fair would be organised at Government ITI (Boys), Ludhiana, Government Textile Chemistry and Knitting Academy in Rishi Nagar, and at Guru Nanak Dev Polytechnic on Gill Road. He said although such job fairs were being organised by the government across Punjab, the youths will have more job opportunities in Ludhiana as local industries require more than 65,000 youth for various jobs. The DC informed that most of the companies attending the job fair are reputed and the youths will get good packages. He appealed to the youth to take full advantage of the job fair and directed the officials from various departments so make the event a success. — TNS
