First of the seven sub-division level job fairs under the state government’s “Ghar Ghar Rozgar Yojana” was held at Government ITI on Gill Road today. More than 150 firms participated in the event and shortlisted candidates from 3,000 youngsters who got themselves registered.

The district administration aims to provide employment to thousands of unemployed youth of the district through these job fairs.

Ludhiana Deputy Commissioner Pradeep Kumar Agrawal informed that the first job fair was organised at Government ITI, Gill Road, today. He said sincere efforts have been made by the district administration to ensure that maximum youth and companies participate in the job fairs.

The DC said two job fairs would be organised on February 16 at Swami Ganga Giri College, Gondwal near Raikot, and Government ITI Girls at Samrala.

On February 17, two fairs would be held at Government Senior Secondary School for Girls, Jagraon, and at Government Senior Secondary School for Boys, Payal. On February 22, two more fairs would be organised at Gulzar Group of Institutes Khanna and at Government Institute of Textile Chemistry and Knitting Technology, Rishi Nagar, Ludhiana.

He said the youth can get themselves registered at www.ghargharrozgar.punjab.gov.in portal. He informed that apart from Ludhiana-based companies, representatives from other firms of the state would also participate in these job fairs.

While urging the youth, Agrawal said youth should take full advantage of these job fairs as several reputed companies were willing to provide employment to them.
