Hot meals were distributed to the underprivileged in different areas of the city to celebrate 10 years of Zomato, a restaurant, cafe search firm. The distribution of the food was done by Robin Hood Army, an NGO. They claimed that to celebrate the day, 5,000 hot meals were served to the underprivileged in the city and around 2.5 lakh meals elsewhere in the country.

The drive started at Feroze Gandhi market and went on till old age homes, orphanages, homes for special children and slums, Manukhta di Sewa shelter, Mother Teresa home for disabled children, Tajpur Road slums, Jassian Road slums, Hambran Road slums among other places, they said. “The idea behind this initiative is that we wanted to share the happiness of our 10th birthday with the underprivileged children and people. Hence, we partnered with Robin Hood Army,” said Priyavrat Bajoria, Ludhiana city head of Zomato.
