Ludhiana: A woman and her daughter went missing from home under mysterious circumstances. The complainant, Rameshwar Dyal, a resident of Captain Colony, told the police that on January 28, he went to market leaving his wife Banita (28) and daughter Rani (5) at home.

3 motorcycles stolen in city

Ludhiana: The police have registered three cases of vehicle theft reported in the city. Rajinder Singh of Kundanpuri told the police that someone stole his motorcycle parked outside his house. Another complainant, Sukhchain Singh of Shimlapuri said thieves stole his motorcycle parked outside a house in Kitchlu Nagar. In the third case, Rajiv Kumar, a resident of LIG flats, alleged that his bike was stolen from outside Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital. TNS 

Man booked for kidnapping girl

Ludhiana: The police have booked a man on the charge of kidnapping a minor girl. He has been identified as Munish Kumar of Inderpuri. The complainant, Mohmmad Jalil of Jagdishpura said on January 10, he and his wife went to work in the morning. When they returned home, they found their daughter, Kumkum (14), missing. He suspected that she was kidnapped by Munish on the pretext of marrying her. TNS

10-kg silver seized from car

Khanna: The police claimed to have recovered 10-kg silver ornaments from a car. Khanna  SSP Dhruv Dahiya  said a police party signalled a car to stop at a naka on GT Road, Doraha.  The occupant of the car was identified as Kamal Verma of Shri Guru Harkrishan Nagar, Malerkotla Road, Khanna. The police recovered 10 kg of silver ornaments from the car but Kamal was unable to produce any document relating to the jewellery.  The ornaments were handed over to Amit Goyal, ETO, Mobile Wing, Mohali, for further investigation. 22-year-old goes missing 

Ludhiana: A 22-year-old boy has gone missing under mysterious circumstances. The victim has been identified as Monu Kumar (22), a resident of Barnada village. Monu’s mother Nankana Devi said her son used to sell spices in vegetable market on Hambran road. On January 10, he left without informing to the family. “We have enquired from our native place Uttar Pradesh and from several other relatives living in Punjab. We suspected that he might have been kept under wrongful confinement by unknown persons,” she said. TNS
