A day after the registration of an FIR against Lok Insaaf Party MLA Simarjit Singh Bains on the charge of trespassing on the Verka Milk Plant situated on the Ferozepur road, the police are yet to make any arrest in the case.

Apart from the MLA Bains, more than a dozen of his supporters have been booked under bailable and non-bailable sections, 451 (house trespass in order to commit offence punishable with imprisonment), 353 (assault or criminal force to deter a public servant from discharge of his duty), 186 (obstructing public servant in discharge of duty) and 506 (criminal intimidation), of the IPC.

Station House Officer Brij Mohan said the MLA was yet to be arrested as investigation was on into the case.

The MLA and his supporters had collected samples from the laboratory of the plant situated on the Ferozepur road. Bains had alleged that Verka had been selling low-fat milk by packaging the same in high-fat packets.

On April 24, Bains was booked for trespassing on the passport office. He was not arrested then also.
